The US economy shrank in the past quarter reversing direction from the previous quarter. Unemployment continues to fall, with the headline rate ticking down to 3.5%. Workers’ earnings continue to fall, with average earnings declining to $1,117/week. Rental vacancies continue to fall, with the national rate ticking down to 5.6%. Home ownership continues to rise, with the national rate climbing up to 66%. Home building applications continue to rise this month and quarterly housing prices continue to rise a further 3.6%.
